Habi-Tec is a South East Queensland based, family owned and operated Arboricultural and Consultancy firm. We are dedicated to researching and improving wildlife habitat quality and health and diversity in urban and natural areas.
Habi-Tec was launched in 2013 as the first specialised artisan habitat tree company in the region.
Drawing upon many years of professional experience within the Australian and British arboriculture, urban forestry and tree service industries – Habi-Tec owner Steve Collom and his likeminded team, have combined their passion for trees and wildlife with their expertise as professional tree climbers and consultants.
Moving beyond conventional wildlife nest boxes into expertly designed, hand-crafted tree hollows and natural nest box construction became our niche. In 2015, the City of Gold Coast Parks engaged Habi-Tec to gradually develop a city-wide habitat tree creation and management program, targeting urban Eucalypts for habitat creation as an alternative to tree removal.
Habi-Tec have created, improved, and activated hundreds of tree hollows throughout the wider Gold Coast City region, and further developed tree hollows and improved habitat sites for Queensland National Parks, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Local State Governments, green groups, developers, project managers and private stakeholders.
